Why is Pioglitazone (Actos) prescribed?

    Call your physician immediately if you have any of the following symptoms of hyperglycemia:

  • frequent urination
  • weakness
  • blurred vision

    If high blood sugar is not treated, life-threatening condition: diabetic ketoacidosis could develop. Call your physician immediately if you have any of the these symptoms:

  • shortness of breath

    Pioglitazone (Actos) may cause adverse effects. Tell your healthcare professional if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

  • muscle pain
