Why is Pioglitazone (Actos) prescribed?
Actos is used, in combination or alone with other medicines, to treat diabetes type 2 (when diabetes cannot be controlled by exercise and diet alone. Class of drugs: thiazolidinediones. Special precautions
Before taking Actos,

Actos can restart ovulation in women with polycystic ovary disease or those taking oral contraceptives. There is a risk for pregnancy if adequate birth control is not used.
